I am in favour of passing the proposal. I have never meet such staunch and dedicated custodians of the enviroment.

I have lived with a falconer and the birds that are under her care comes a priority for the training and care of the birds.

I believe the support of falconry and the expansion of the live capture regulations are very important. Falconry is important as a cultural and symbiotic activity. With proper implementation and ethical practice it serves to bring people closer to nature.

I am shocked that this is actually being considered. With the decline of so many bird species, allowing the capture of wild raptors for essentially human entertainment is disturbing. In this day and age, the MNR needs to put more interest on the side of wildlife, not on human wants.

I would like to submit my full support for the proposal. I myself am a licensed falconer, and all emotions set aside, I think that there is a clear rationale as to why the proposal should fairly pass.

The Ontario Hawking Club has been very active in monitoring goshawks, and I strongly support the proposal to allow adjustment of the numbers of goshawks based on new information as it becomes available in the future.
I got my falconry license many moons ago, and lived through the re-population of the peregrine falcon thanks to the efforts of many falconers. We are passionate conservationists at heart and we want to see the population of all raptors continue to thrive and gain.

Falconers have played an important role in raptor conservation and by allowing more falconers to have access to wild birds, the MNRF is encouraging more active conservation and citizen science.
This is a fantastic way to hunt and be done in a natural way. Anyone who is against this has nothing better to do than complain for the sake of complaining.

I support this proposal for both conservation and and recreational purposes. If the science backs it up then I am all for it, we need to get more people outdoors and facilitate that however possible.
Removing the draw for wild take is a great improvement. This will allow all apprentices to start with a young bird in the fall. This is important for so many reasons!
