I am very concerned about these proposed changes. Recently we have seen a huge increase in the use of ministerial zoning orders which circumvent well-tested procedures to ensure wise planning outcomes.

MZO are a blunt instrument overriding biodiversity conservation and protection, climate mitigation efforts, community priorities, official plans and more. Development projects NEED to consider the long-term environmental and community impact, not just the short term gain for few.

Overall, the Town is supportive of the recent changes, particularly as they could assist the Town of Innisfil implement its vision for the Innisfil Mobility Orbit and development around the future Innisfil GO Station.

I have no faith that the ford government would use this change for inclusionary zoning. Given what's happening with the Foundry in Toronto right now, it's a mockery to say that this is in the name of affordable housing.

I am strongly against this move as it would bypass meaningful community consultation and contribute to the housing crisis. This takes power and voice away from residents and gives it to profit seeking developers
This basically accelerates the provinces' abilities to co-opt community and municipalities' control over urban development by taking away the critical tool of site plan control (amongst other things).

I think this completely ignores the needs of the individual neighbourhoods. The individual needs that politicians, policy makers and developers will not be able to see; it is something only the residents and those frequenting in the area would know. Do not pass this.

Lunacy. Given the current scandal and (as described by Justice Corbett) illegality surrounding the province’s conduct at the Foundry site in Toronto, the province’s powers in relation to MZOs should be constrained, not expanded.
The neighbourhood association which I represent wishes to express its disagreement with the changes proposed, and with the accompanying expansion of Ministerial powers. Specifically, it:
• is opposed to the widespread (and rapidly accelerating) use of MZOs throughout the Province;
