Please do not allow the minister any more powers. They do not need site plan control and have no business overriding municipal and citizen input into planning. Lire davantage

I am very concerned about these proposed changes. Recently we have seen a huge increase in the use of ministerial zoning orders which circumvent well-tested procedures to ensure wise planning outcomes. Lire davantage

MZO are a blunt instrument overriding biodiversity conservation and protection, climate mitigation efforts, community priorities, official plans and more. Development projects NEED to consider the long-term environmental and community impact, not just the short term gain for few. Lire davantage

I am strongly opposed to expanding the Minister's authority for zoning orders. It is not good planning to override carefully considered local decisions. Lire davantage

I have no faith that the ford government would use this change for inclusionary zoning. Given what's happening with the Foundry in Toronto right now, it's a mockery to say that this is in the name of affordable housing. Lire davantage

Before I begin, I note that I am aware that this consultation process was required in advance of passing Bill 197. The government violated the Environmental Bill of Rights. Knowingly. Lire davantage

I am strongly against this move as it would bypass meaningful community consultation and contribute to the housing crisis. This takes power and voice away from residents and gives it to profit seeking developers

This basically accelerates the provinces' abilities to co-opt community and municipalities' control over urban development by taking away the critical tool of site plan control (amongst other things). Lire davantage

I think this completely ignores the needs of the individual neighbourhoods. The individual needs that politicians, policy makers and developers will not be able to see; it is something only the residents and those frequenting in the area would know. Do not pass this. Lire davantage

This is shameful. Your government has excessively abused and overused MZOs to the benefit of private developers and insiders with access through political donations. This is not a government for the people! Lire davantage

Lunacy. Given the current scandal and (as described by Justice Corbett) illegality surrounding the province’s conduct at the Foundry site in Toronto, the province’s powers in relation to MZOs should be constrained, not expanded.
