I would like to ask that this posting be extended to 90 days in order to allow Municipal governments and organizations adequate time for committing on this proposal. Lire davantage

I live in Pickering in the Greenbelt area, proposed for development, I can not afford to move, and can not find anything affordable to rent , let alone buy . We do not need 50,000 more houses or homes that only the very rich can afford. Lire davantage

I am outraged at this proposal. Not only was the public lied to in 2018 when the Ontario government said they wouldn't touch the greenbelt, but plowing over an entire agricultural preserve is extremely shortsighted. Lire davantage

I think it's a joke that the Ford government wants to open up protected green spaces for development when there are sites within existing zoning boundaries that could and should be developed to increase density. What an absolute clownshow

I feel that the City of Pickering Central Plan is a document that builds the city in a sustainable manner. There are already hundreds on new homes under construction in the area that is covered by the plan. Lire davantage

I am opposed to this revocation without any context on a proposal that will take its place. Any new proposals ought to ensure the Duffins Rouge Agricultural Preserve continues to be permanently protected for agricultural and conservation uses.

No Objection in Principle, subject to transition period. The Central Pickering Development Plan (CPDP) includes 2031 targets for a population of 61,000 residents, and 35,000 jobs within the community of Seaton (and 70,000 residents and 35,000 jobs through long term intensification). Lire davantage

Public services are not developed enough for Durham's growing population. Transit, EMS, schoolboards, hospitals, sanitation, and further are currently requiring more concentrated focus that would be regressed through an increased catchment area. Lire davantage

I do not support the revocation of the central Pickering development plan. While I appreciate the need for housing for people, this approach will increase sprawl and I see no complementary proposals to address the infrastructure investments that will be required to support housing in these areas. Hello, Leave the regional/municipal development plans alone. They were developed based on how the people that love in the area want their communities to develop. We like our protected lands and intensification corridors the way they are so leave the development plan alone.

Please protect the green belt. We do not need more development in Pickering. There is no place to go if you are sick, there is not infrastructure for all these new developments and condos.

Why would you get rid of a comprehensive plan to develop Pickering so you can just get rid of Greenbelt space that is untouched by humans? Lire davantage

I am deeply disappointed that anyone, let alone my government, would see this as progress. Certainly we are capable of housing our population without destroying the environment that sustains us. Why this shortcut is desirable to anyone other than unimaginative and greedy developers is beyond me.
