I can understand the frustration many Ontarians feel about finding an affordable or attainable home in a place they want to live. For many people, this will not be solved by building more homes, only by limiting who can buy them. It is important that social housing be included.

Land planning is complex and takes careful, deliberate consideration of the long-term sustainability of development or preservation that happens today. Development of new, affordable and quality housing does not happen quickly.

Recommend providing some additional flexibility in the Growth Plan respecting minor development within and adjacent to key features. Also recommend that the Growth Plan provide some clarity on shoreline development and the implementation of existing OP approvals in the Growth Plan NHS.

I support the decision to rezone greenbelt areas as appropriate to build housing, businesses and highways.
To ensure the province’s future growth, prosperity and competitiveness, we must continue to expand infrastructure.

There needs to be a review of a Place to Grow and Provincial Policy Statement. There are some Greenbelt lands that do not meet the criteria and should be removed from the Greenbelt.
