Removing land from the green belt is a terrible idea. We can accommodate more people in a more sustainable manner by building more densely on land that is already built on. The Ontario government should prioritize medium density construction in existing areas zoned for single-family dwellings.

Please do not let Mr. Ford get away with passing this bill. It does not take a rocket scientist’s education to see what is happening. The Green Belt has been protected for a reason. We need all the nature, trees, biodiversity we can keep.

Relative to the Greenbelt Consultation, ERO # 019-6216, I wish to indicate my strong disapproval for the release of any Greenbelt lands, as I feel this release will advantage developers to the disadvantage of the public.

I am writing to express my opposition to Bill 23 and associated policy proposals that would weaken environmental protections and undermine public involvement in land use planning and decision-making.

There is little to no public benefit to destroying environmentally protected land to continue urban sprawl. This entire proposal should be scrapped, and the resources invested into a significant expansion of public transit projects and densified, affordable housing.

Selling off of part of our green belt, will not build more home of which Ontario needs. This will line the pockets of Mr. Fords friends while building huge monstrosities which most people cannot afford.

This is a horrible idea. The green belt was put into place for a reason. To protect vital farmland and prevent urban sprawl from turning everything grey. We need green space and food for our health.

The greenbelt should not be for sale. It is protected land and once it is gone, it's gone. We do not need to build more mansions for the rich friends of our Premier. Fix the healthcare and education Mr. Ford, this is where your focus should be.
Please do not destroy the greenbelt. These lands are protected for a reason and we need to keep it that way instead of selling to the highest bidder. Development in these lands will be catastrophic for the future.

My children's future is already at stake with the existential climate crisis.
There are other ways to address the impending housing needs that need to be raised and used.

The rezoning of greenbelt lands is shortsighted and excessive. Existing lands have already been identified as suitable to achieve the proposed housing growth. Further, in converting greenbelt lands we would be significantly impacting our ability to deal with our existing waterways and floodplains.
