my main concerns are 1. flooding: the buffering function of the greenbelt may be compromised by the expansion of paved areas so I hope they would limit the single expansion of each area Lire davantage

This Bill needs to be seriously reviewed before it moves forward. It was not apart of the Ford governments plan for re-election, and has not received adequate support by the people of Ontario. Lire davantage

While this plan seems like a simple response to the housing crisis (ie. We must build more homes for our growing populace) the execution of this is I'll suited to provide a future foundation of housing. Lire davantage

This entire proposal feels insane. Putting the greenbelt at risk for the sake of making more money on the housing market is honestly disgusting. The fact that the current Ontario government is looking to put our green spaces at risk in the name of profit is unsurprising but still disappointing.

I am 100% against this bill. The Greenbelt should NOT be reduced in the name of affordable housing. Protecting the Greenbelt should be a priority for any Ontario government. Lire davantage

We need to protect the Greenbelt at all costs, given the environmental disaster we are facing. There are solutions for housing that don’t need to involve destroying precious land. We can do better with what we have. Lire davantage

The proposed amendments to the green belt are counter to the Ontario’s Housing Affordability Task Force 2022 report. This report stated that a shortage of land isn’t the cause of Ontario’s housing problem and that Greenbelts, environmentally sensitive areas and farmland must be protected. Lire davantage

Ontarioans were told by Doug Ford that the Greenbelt would be protected under his leadership and it disgusting to see this promise broken. This proposal only lines the pockets of Ford's donors to sell land and housing to a lucky few, while these priceless lands are lost to future generations. Lire davantage

This bill spits in the face of democracy. The greenbelt is irreplaceable and integral to our environment. We all know this land is not going to be developed to provide affordable housing. This is being developed to make Doug Ford’s donors richer. Lire davantage

I am against this proposal. The conservatives repeatedly promised to not touch the greenbelt, and have now reneged on their word. Beyond the Conservative duplicity, once destroyed or developed, there are limited options to return the greenbelt habitats to how they used to be.

I completely oppose the development of prime agricultural land for urban sprawl. This is terrible for our environment as it will create more commuters producing more air pollution. We need agricultural land for food not pavement.

It is absolutely shameful that this government would consider touching lands that have been part of this province’s environmental heritage for decades. This is not a solution to housing and should be abandoned immediately! Lire davantage
