I am completely opposed to developing the green belt and Bill 23. Being outwardly lied to by an elected leader is beyond hurtful. Doug Ford made a promise to protect the green belt land (the very little fertile land that Ontario has) and he needs to uphold his word.

Developing into the greenbelt will weaken Ontario and Canada by irreversibly destroying farmland and important natural spaces. As food production becomes increasingly strained in North America due to drought and high water usage, we will want every inch of arable land we have.

The greenbelt serves many purposes; reducing it to develop more car-dependent neighbourhoods is incredibly short-sighted.

Please preserve the green belt in its entirely and also beef up protections in smaller communities not covered by the green belt experiencing deforestation and loss of green space for new development.

Bad idea. Development Charges have been set for municipalities like London. This act will have existing residential homeowners paying for new growth. Growth should pay for growth. That is what Development Charges are supposed to do. So change the Development Charges Act too.

There are thousands of acres of land that isn’t protected- I mean what about all that land he wants to swap for the protected lands- available.

Leave our Greenbelt alone. Shady deal with wealthy donors who supported your campaign DF, won't solve housing shortage for people who really need housing, will increase our municipal taxes thanks to your offloading. Stop privatizing our education, health care and environment!

I am completely opposed to the proposed changes to the Ontario green belt. Doug Ford ran on an election platform of not changing the green belt and he should keep his campaign promises. This bill does not help people and the green belt is a resource that can not be replaced.
Please save our green spaces for our children's future.
Too much progress and removal of green spaces impact climate change and effect how our children will experience this planet.
Destruction of nature at the expense of progress does not have a good outcome for our future.

Because this bill breaks a fundamental and public promise that Ford made to leave the Greenbelt intact, there should be an election before the Greenbelt is opened to development so that Ontarians can have their say.
