I do not support the selling of parts of the green belt for development…what about the little guy who wants a place to take their kids for a walk…or folks who want to have fresh air and clean drinking water.

The Greenbelt is too important to remove protections. Development charges are a necessary revenue tool for municipalities, why not just remove development charges for affordable homes (with set price limits).
It is appalling that the premier has so little respect or care for the environment. He has promised not to develop it and yet here we are. I am steadfastly opposed to this & the potentially devastating effect it would have on the environment.
-This is not what this government promised
-This is not what the people of Ontario voted for
-This is a bad idea, and it will be irreversible
-There are other proven solutions for addressing housing access and affordability that should be implemented instead

The greenbelt is an incredibly important source of food production, water filtration and provides much needed greenspace for not only wildlife but also the residents of the gta.

-The Greenbelt was established to confer on-going protection -land swaps were not envisioned as this defeats the purpose of creating a Greenbelt to protect farmland & curb urban sprawl.

Absolutely do not pass this Bill. The Greenbelt must be protected in its entirety. No “replacement” areas must be considered in order to open up Greenbelt land for currently unallowed development.

I'm pretty upset about the possibility of damages to the greenbelt. I've lived in the GTA all my life, currently in Burlington and love what the greenbelt affords me in terms of nature. I think expanding the green belt is the best approach to a diverse ecosystem and strong ecological protections.

There is already enough land available (88,000 acres for the proposed 1.5 million homes)
Damaging the green belt to develop it is going to significantly impact the ecosystems, horticulture and native plants that are presently there, for no good reason.

We strongly oppose the proposed rezoning of land currently designated Greenbelt, a designation that restricts development of lands reserved for recreational, agricultural, ecological and hydrological purposes. The ecological and environmental arguments are obvious.

In regards to the proposed changes to the Greenbelt Plan, and the removal of and/or resignation of 15 areas of land, I am very opposed.
Many fruits and vegetables consumed in Ontario are grown on these lands.

I’m writing to you today in support of the Greenbelt, Conservation Authorities and Ontario’s wetlands, woodlands and other natural areas.
Firstly, I am writing to state my opposition to the proposal to remove 7,400 acres of land from the Greenbelt, which was revealed on November 04.

This is a bad law. A greenbelt is a greenbelt. It should never be cut into or changed. The whole bill is predicated on an assumption that affordable housing should be built in the suburban model; we do not need anymore suburban sprawl.
