As Biden said to Putin, "Don't do it." Keep your paws off the Greenbelt. The grab has nothing to do with affordable housing and everything to do with greed. The public is not as stupid as you think. Don't do it.

Please do not remove any part of the greenbelt for any reason. It is the only few green space we have left. I do not support the movement to reduce or use the location dedicated to greenbelt. Lire davantage

Destroying farmland, wet lands and watershed areas is a bad idea. That I am sure you do not care about since the goal is to further enrich select individuals that finance the political system for personal benefits. An example of this is the land that was purchased near the proposed highway 413. Lire davantage

The housing crisis should not take precedent over our environment. We shouldn’t threaten the carrying capacity of our environment. The green belt act was established for the purpose of protecting vital ecosystems and curbing urban sprawl. Lire davantage

Densify what we have now. Your own report says that we have more than enough land to not need to use the greenbelt. "But a shortage of land isn’t the cause of the problem. Land is available, both inside the existing built-up areas and on undeveloped land outside greenbelts." Lire davantage

We should not be developing parts of the greenbelt and risking irreparable damage to both the environment and wetlands. There are better methods of development focused on urban densification and appropriate usage of area already available to developers. Lire davantage

Ontario’s Greenbelt protects farmland, communities, forests, wetlands and watersheds. It also preserves cultural heritage and supports recreation and tourism in Ontario’s Greater Golden Horseshoe. Lire davantage

This is an affront to democratic practices. The Hamilton boundaries were discussed extensively. The people were asked to vote. They did- spectacularly- against expanding into the green belt. Lire davantage

Reducing the Greenbelt is short-sighted. The environmental degradation due to sprawl, increased car trafifc (including from the new highway), and loss of valuable farmland will be immense and nearly impossible to rectify.

I'm very concerned about expanding urban boundaries at the expense of protected land. If there is a corresponding push away from single family homes and further densification with proper public transit, trains, etc then perhaps this is acceptable. Without the overall picture I cannot support

Stop building car centric suburbs and swaths of highways and parking lots on some of the only green space we have left. These are just wasteful single family dwellings that the vast majority of us can't afford anyway Lire davantage

Do not build on the green belt. Do not destroy the ecosystems that support the longevity of our province. Any construction or destruction of this protected land will be catastrophic to wildlife, trees that keep our air clean, clean waterways, and generations of farmland. Lire davantage

This plan is the next in a line of MONUMENTAL errors that we would be feeling the repercussions of for generations to come. Do not do this, improve existing areas rather than tearing down significant natural sites.

The Greenbelt is beyond important. Supports biodiversity , helps control flood areas, protect our water tables, creates areas for everyone to enjoy, houses important sensitive ecosystems, and much more. Housing is needed but not there. We do not need more sprawling suburbs, dependent on cars. Lire davantage

I wholeheartedly oppose this proposal. The Greenbelt is an incredibly delicate and important area that previous governments realized was key to maintaining our ecological system, fresh water and flood mitigation. Lire davantage
