My home is part of of the Oak Ridges Moraine. It is also home to so many valued plant and wildlife species that I that I can testify to their disappearance and upheaval in direct relation to current expansion and building processes.

The re-designation of this protected land opens up the conversation about re-designation of other protected lands. The lands included in the current green belt are there for their ecological significance. You can’t just swap them out.

I am strongly OPPOSED to this proposal to open sections of protected Greenbelt land to development. Firstly, the Greenbelt boundaries were decided based on a variety of ecological and sociopolitical factors.

-withdraw the plan to remove lands from the Greenbelt;
-get on with a meaningful Greenbelt expansion that reflects public input - repeatedly promised but never delivered by the Ford government;

Hands off the Oak Ridges Moraine! Your government made a promise not to touch the Green Belt in 2018 and a government needs to be trusted to keep its promises. Your developer friends have been clamouring to get their hands on that prime real estate for years. Find alternative locations for homes.

We're in a climate crisis, we cannot afford build over conservation areas. This proposal does not help with affordability and at the same time makes significant damage to our environment. Homes belong in towns and cities, not on top of farms, forests and wetlands.
Please come to your senses and reverse this immensely ignorant decision.
Lining the pockets of mega rich land developers over protecting this vastly important conservation area is reprehensible.

I'm Ontario resident living in a greenbelt settlement area. I'm strongly against removal of any greenbelt lands. These lands were established as protected to maintain water supply, farmland, a healthy environment, and provide habitat and linkage corridors for wildlife.

The Ontario government promised to leave the greenbelt and the Oak Ridges Morraine intact and not develop it, well now they are going back on that promise! Surely there are downtown areas that could be developed in place of the greenbelt!

I oppose the proposed changes. I live in the Oak Ridges Moraine, in a designated Natural Core Area where development is very restricted. My 4ha of prime southern Ontario forest is protected against cutting and allows only a single family home.

I am dismayed to hear that this proposed redesignation comes with built in beneficiaries who have more interest in lining their pockets than building communities. We should be looking at intensification of downtown Toronto vs building neighbourhoods that will increase the need for cars.

The Oak Ridges Moraine and Green Belt area is incredibly important to Ontario and our future. Development in these areas would be shortsighted and simply a money grab for these developers who own land in the area.

Oh my goodness this is terrible. Southern Ontario is already so ugly, concrete everywhere. Please don't destroy the small pockets of beauty that are left! I do not understand how you can "take" greenbelt land from one area to "give" to another, it does not make sense.
