Your Draft Management Plan 019-9209, for Uxbridge Urban Park suggests you will allow e-bike access. It is vitally important for the safety and protection of trails and users that the Park define which Class of e-bike will be allowed. Not all e-bikes are equal. Lire davantage

Regarding the management of trails within the new Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park, it would be helpful to build on the system of map signage used within the TRCA lands which I assume will be eventually added to the park. Lire davantage

Would really like to have camp sites. Also it would be amazing to have part of Darlington year round. Lakeside would be perfect. Hate having to go to Algonquin in the winter with bad roads and we have a big (29’) camper which is to big for silent lake.

Hi, I’ve already been in touch but it came to mind that when the land was being reviewed ASIheritage.ca was hired to do an assessment of the land. I’m wondering if the documentation that they produced would be available at the January 16 meeting? Lire davantage

I think as a resident of Uxbridge the rules that are being created for horses on the trails is mind blowing. Uxbridge claims to be the horse trail capital of Canada, yet they aren’t allowed on all the trails, RIDICULOUS! It’s also ridiculous that they have to have a bag strapped to them. Lire davantage

I am commenting on Preliminary Draft Management Plan for the new Uxbridge Urban Park as a concerned equestrian. We ride regularly and respectfully in those forests and have for years. I am referring specifically to the need for manure bag use. Lire davantage

I am extremely upset with parts of the proposal. Limiting equestrian activities in the Uxbridge urban provincial park is extremely disheartening, and for such a large equestrian population much of the reason horses are in this area is to have access to trails. Lire davantage

Absolutely not. What’s a little horse poo that’s literally hay/grass/grain compared to my horse randomly spooking at the bag strapped to his behind and possibly killing me and others around? No.

I do not support the idea of having trail horses wear poop bags. Most horsemen are responsible enough to make sure when their horses poop on the trail to make sure it is kicked off or spread around. It dries out quick enough and doesn’t continue to smell for a long time. Lire davantage

As a trial user, I’m in favour of catching manure from horses. I would also request more refuse containers at trail access points to manage the manure of both horses and dogs. Lire davantage

After spending many hours walking in various paths in Uxbridge Township I feel it is unfair to focus on the issue of horse manure (pages 30-32) on the paths. your precedence should be on dog manure and various damage caused by dogs and brain dead owners of dogs. Lire davantage

I feel strongly against the use of “poop bags” for horses being ridden on the trails. These bags were designed for carriage horses. Strapping a bag to a horses saddle restricts the horses use of their tail and most horses are not trained to accept such a device flapping around its backside. Lire davantage

I would be concerned about the rigging for the manure bag getting stuck or caught on a tree branch or bush while riding on the main trail, and off of the main trails causing a horse to have a bad spook, possibly seriously injuring the horse and/or rider....not to mention trying to train a horse to Lire davantage
