I am completely opposed to the new Economic Zones proposed under Bill 5. We are a democratic society, with longstanding environmental and planning laws in place for a reason. I oppose this bill because of the possible wide environmental issues. This bill also gives the government too much power to bulldoze what they want without consideration for any impact on threatened species, Indigenous areas, or heritage concerns.

I am opposed to the Special Ecomonics Zones Act. It allow Cabinet to create zones where any kind of project can be designated and exempted from any provincial law. There is no legistlative oversight and even Provincial Parks are not excluded. Lire davantage
