Hello, I grew up around Georgian Bay and remember seeing the Piping Plovers nesting at Wasaga Beach. These endangered birds need their space and habitat intact to nest and reproduce and thrive. Having grown up there, I know how important the tourism dollars are for that region and how popular Wasaga Beach can be in the summer. But at the same time, there are many other beautiful, under-used areas on the shores of Georgian Bay that can also use the tourist dollars. That area is being loved to death and we should preserve what makes the area special and the reasons people want to visit and not have development take over every last inch of the beach. I implore you as a citizen and as a person that grew up there, please preserve what little is left of the natural areas around that beach so that my daughter (and her children?) know what makes that place so special and cherished.
