This is ridiculous and I do not support it. We've just been through this with Bill 212. We know that bike lanes save lives and fight congestion. Why is our government wasting time, effort, and money on something that isn't based on any evidence, again.
Building more infrastructure for cars is not the solution to congestion, and the fact that this government thinks it is and cannot come up with any alternatives shows that they are not fit for the job.
We should be investing in better public transit infrastructure (which includes bike lanes btw), as that is the only meaningful change that will solve congestion, and is actually a long term solution.
In 20 years time, if we've invested in quality transit, we'll have a liveable province. If all we've done is build more highways, that means more people will be driving rather than choosing alternative modes of transport, and we're just going to continue to have congestion year after year.
We need a more forward thinking government, this is backwards and I don't support it.
