The frustrating thing about…

The frustrating thing about completing this consultation request is the knowledge that unless it agrees with the government proposal it will be ignored. I believe the current government of Ontario is in denial about the impacts of biodiversity loss and climate change. Every move in the environmental sphere is designed to weaken oversight, regulation and any barrier to unfettered development. The decision to shrink and therefore disempower local oversight of the environment is another example of a government overriding local interests in favour of the development community. We need strong and locally resident conservation oversight. This move will weaken that oversight making it more difficult to protect our fragile environment. I am totally opposed to this proposal.
