As someone who had first had experience working at the Essex Region Conservation Authority and saw the breadth of local knowledge available by my colleagues, I vehemently disagree with the proposal to amalgamate conservation authorities across the province into 7 new entities. These Conservation Authorities provide so much for local communities as well through programming, venues, and parks - all of which could be at risk by creating a large entity which blurs the lines of local cities, towns, and counties.
