Thank you for the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the proposed changes to the Highway Traffic Act. Upon reviewing the proposed amendments, it was noted that there is a reference to prohibiting a reduction of lanes for ‘any other prescribed purpose’ in addition to bicycles lanes. The Region requests further clarification on how this will be defined to assess potential impacts on the Regional transportation strategy outlined in the Integrated Master Plan, as approved by Halton Regional Council on November 12, 2026.
