There is far too much use of bottled water. Most of it unnecessary as most cities and towns have good drinking water. Empty bottles are not all recycled and too many litter the sidewalks and country trails.
At least there should be a bottle charge to encourage returns. The return and recycling system should be the responsibility of the bottlers and retailers. This presumably would increase the price and also decrease usage.
The bottlers are paying far too little for the water and there costs should at least be equal to municipal rates.
