My father worked for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Rural affairs. Before his retirement, he observed the agricultural and housing communities fight the protected areas of the Green belt. Lire davantage

Hello I live in Scarborough and have watched farms disappear all up along 404 and 400 highway, the massacre of protected land which conserves our precious water and animals. I do not want the greenbelt destroyed for housing. Lire davantage

Utterly deranged to undo environmental protections under the guise of housing development. Disgusting, short-sighted, and destructive to our fragile ecosystems. Nobody sane wants to build housing on protected land. Lire davantage

20 years ago , we bought a nice , big , brand new ,detached in Vaughan for $230k with $15k down payment . Nowadays if young people put down $150k where can they buy a small house? Average old house in Vaughan is over 1.6 million! Our wage did not increase 10 times since then. Lire davantage

Created in 2005, the Ontario Greenbelt – the largest Greenbelt in the world - consists of two million acres of productive farm land and environmentally sensitive areas that have been permanently protected from development. Lire davantage

I am strongly opposed to removing parts of the Greenbelt. The short-term benefit of accommodating the growing population will be negated by the increasing impacts of climate change, which in turn affects our mental and physical health. Lire davantage

Canada has 2 largest land in the world with only 38 million people , but the house price in Canada is the most expensive in the world!!!!! Why ? Policy matters Land supply matters! We are “short “of land to be built in !

TThe government should be ashamed and the people of Ontario should be outraged by the last announcement done by the Housing Minister Steve Clark; last year, when asked he said that the Greebelt will not be touched by developers; here is his promise today, when 7500 acres will be removed, animals an Lire davantage

Bill 23 and the proposed housing developments in the Greenbelt seriously undermine good planning principles and totally ignore the urgency of climate change. These will be auto dependent communities and dependent on 'near term servicing by developers with local infrastructure upgrades'. Lire davantage

This is NOT the response to the housing crisis that people want. I do not want the green belt developed, we can never get this back. Climate change and sprawl is real and we need sustainable and green housing.

I feel strongly opposed to this. Toronto’s greenbelt is critical to keep not only for environmental reasons but for the mental and physical health of residents. There are numerous studies showing the benefits of walking and being active in nature. Lire davantage

I do not agree with this proposal. We need more green space, not less. Converting this green space into commercial land will result in a disruption to the local ecology. Lire davantage

This reminds me of the attempt to close libraries in Toronto. If I remember correctly, to facilitate the operation of fast food franchises. Shame! What about trees, birds, watersheds, greenhouse gases as people make long commutes? This is sprawl, not an increase in housing density! Lire davantage

I do not support this. Fragmenting the green belt is not ok. This goes against what the conservative government said in 2018. Apparently the conservative government of Ontario is against environmental protection.
