No! I am 100% against green belt development. The greenbelt plays an incredibly important environmental role, including habitat protection and creating green corridors. Just no! Look at other options for housing (and while you’re at it, make it affordable housing). Lire davantage

Having grown up in the 50’s in southern Ontario I remember the place as a land of fruit and vegetable farms interspersed with small towns. It saddens me to see the concrete circle moving inward destroying a treasure we should have been more careful to keep. Build farther north. Lire davantage

Enough with the Greed Ford… we are watching you! You should be sued by The People, for your lack of leadership, greed and corruption! The Green Belts need to be expanded to help tackle global warming, to protect habitats, and at risk species! Stop the fat, stop Fords Gravy Train!

As a strong supporter of Ontario's ecologically vital Greenbelt, I am disappointed with and do not agree with proposed amendments that would remove 7,400 acres from the Greenbelt to allow more housing. Lire davantage

I am disgusted that the Ontario government is removing prime environmentally important land from the Greenbelt solely so that friends of Cabinet Ministers can make a massive profit by developing these lands for monster houses for the rich. Lire davantage

I would like to see more individual lots open for building homes. There is a demand for urban rural lots and there are many local businesses that would benefit from the creation of more building lots - jobs for every phase of the planning and building of these homes. Lire davantage

We are now learning from the Ontario Auditor General, that the process and recommendations from the experienced and knowledgeable staff were ignored by the Premier and his ministers. When we elect Lire davantage

This plan goes directly against promises made by the government to leave the Greenbelt as a protected space. One acre of land is not equal to another and can’t simply be swapped out, there are important differences in the ecosystems, landscape placement/configuration, plant and animal species etc. Lire davantage

Please protect the Greenbelt as it was designated to be. A new study shows that 1 in 5 species in Canada at risk of extinction due to habitat loss. We need green space now more than ever before. The Greenbelt was designated for a purpose and should not be sold to development. Lire davantage

Per the province's own report "Report of the Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force" "But a shortage of land isn’t the cause of the problem. Land is available, both inside the existing built-up areas and on undeveloped land outside greenbelts. Lire davantage

This Bill is the most disgusting piece of legislation enacted by this government, and the bar is very high. The blatant disregard for our fragile ecosystems and protected wetlands in the Greenbelt, so no respect for science or even the economic value in preserving these spaces and biodiversity. Opening the green belt isn't new for government but that doesn't make it right The builders and developers( who are the same people ) don't need more land. There's been land bought up years in advance. What needs to be done is building needs to stop on farm land immediately. Lire davantage
