I am completely opposed to this. All this does is make it easier for hunters to continue to kill animals. The fines mean nothing, as the hunters make money off of the animals. Lire davantage

I agree. Since the reporting info is important for resource management I would support a larger fine for delinquents failing to report - $50 the first year, $100 the second year, $150 the third year, $200 the fourth year, etc with no reset until reporting completed.

This amendment will be less preventative than the current system. Financial penalties do nothing to prevent those with means and disproportionately affect those without.

There is no rule of law here. What ever happened to being innocent till proven guilty. There are many ways that a hunter would have not completed his her report. These non compliance issues should be investigated by a Conservation Officer who would make this decision. Lire davantage

This is yet another tax on people who already pay handsomely for the privilege of what was once the right to support and feed our families. Hunters already pay for applications for licences. Outdoors cards, draws and pour huge amounts of money into the communities where they hunt. Lire davantage

Financial penalties won't encourage people to submit a report. People who can afford the penalty won't care, if anything it will encourage fewer submissions. Isn't there a better way of tracking the information other than threatening financial penalties or preventing people from hunting. Lire davantage

As an OPS member and an avid hunter and an MNR employee , I think this will help hunters take it seriously that we use this information to dictate our future regulations . I love it .

No! Mandatory hunter reporting is subjective and not based on science and to propose further penalties on LICENCE HOLDERS who fail to notify the MRR of harvest constitutes more Government overreach and should not be allowed and is seen by the Outdoor Community as a money grab.

Hunter reports are valuable information and I have no issue with the process. I believe the lager financial penalty is better suited vs the 1 year suspension on purchasing of tags.

As easy as it is to do the reports, some folks do forget and I think the 1 year license suspension is a bit much. I think going to an increased dollar penalty is a great idea so that there is still incentive to do the report.

I am in full support of a stricter and more structured penalty system for the failure to submit mandatory hunter reports. The completion of these reports is a simple task that can be done in a matter of minutes. Lire davantage

I feel that a $25 penalty is hardly an incentive to file a report. And a $50 penalty for the next and succeeding non-compliance is just telling these rogues that their lazy and/or selfish behavior can be bought with minimal consequences. Lire davantage

I beleive that the sur charge should be in effect when ever a licence is applied for and you should not be able to hold a valid license until the fine by is paid Otherwise people will just keep on applying as nd getting licences with out reporting.

I do not support the change. I do not see this as a significant amount of money to drive the desired change. The real penalty is not being able to obtain a hunting license. Stay with the current system and even up the financial penalty. Lire davantage

I personally have forgotten to submit my mandatory report. It happens. But it shouldn't. I think a first time offender should pay $75-$100. Second time $150-200 and third consecutive time a year suspension.

I think it is outrageous to force people to submit reports on our hunting activity ! Any data collected is never published ! What is the purpose of the report ? Enough is enough with this BS and money grab !!!! Lire davantage

Thank you for the chance to comment. I feel you are going in the wrong direction with mandatory hunter reports. You should be offering something to the hunter as an incentive to submit a report. Lire davantage
