I cannot but think that this proposed piece of legislation is anything more than an appeal to garner votes. Lire davantage

This is a ludicrous bill. Municipalities need to prioritize alternate modes of transportation to car traffic in order to reduce reliance on cars as the preferred method of transportation within their boundaries. Lire davantage

It is outrageous that the government wants to limit and veto the installation of bike lanes. Lire davantage

This is moronic. We need to move people through improved transit and safe bike lanes. Stop focusing on cars and focus on people. You are embarrassing this province. We want accessible, safe and climate conscious transit options.

The removal of existing bike lanes will be detrimental to mobility in the city of Toronto and the rest of the province. Lire davantage

Interfering in civic planning by impeding the installation of bike lanes even when they replace a car lane is provincial overreach for one. Also increasing bike infrastructure and getting people out of cars is better for our health and the health of our cities as has been shown around the world. Lire davantage

The proposal in Schedule 4 that states: "it is also amended to require Ministry approval before municipalities may construct bicycle lanes in certain circumstances, and to require municipalities to provide the Ministry with information, including information relating to bicycle lanes" is an overreac Lire davantage

This bill will only serve to increase congestion and therefore contribute to an increase in the negative environmental effects of single-occupancy passenger vehicles. Lire davantage

Bill 212, the Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act, 2024 – Building Highways Faster Act, is just another attempt to fix traffic by doing exactly what doesn't work: building more highways. Lire davantage

Bike lanes save lives and permit active commuting. Please continue to develop safe active travel. Public money should be used to promote public transit, not expanding roadways.

I am very unsupportive of this Bill. It is a backward move not based on any data-based decision. We should not be building new highways.

The provincial government is overstepping with this proposed legislation and is solving a Toronto problem with a province-wide solution. Other municipalities should be able to make their own autonomous decisions without all of this ridiculous red tape. Lire davantage

As a civil engineer approaching the age of 40 who drives, takes transit, cycles and walks in a major city, I'm disgusted by this proposed legislation. We should be doing everything in our power to reduce the number of cars on the roads. Ignoring climate change will not make it go away. Lire davantage

This is absolutely the most stupid and poorly thought out amendment to the Highway Traffic Act. It is well studied in several academic, observational, and other well documented studies (public and private) that bicycle lanes have a POSTIVE impact on businesses, health, and traffic congestion.
