As a life time toronto resident I think we should absolutely NOT develop a highway through the green belt. You are creating urban sprawl and creating a car centric city/gta. Instead invest in more bike lanes, public transit, and park space. Doug ford is a complete goon and needs to step down. Lire davantage

This is beyond dumb. In order to improve traffic we need to get more people out of cars. Work from home, bike infastructure, public transportation. That way the wealthy can have their roads with less traffic

Research has shown time and time again that building more roads does not reduce traffic congestion. In a few years the congestion returns as more people opt to travel by car. Lire davantage

This bill should not go through as we should not be prioritizing the most inefficient form of transportation over our small amount of precious landscape. The Environmental Defence estimates that 400 acres of our precious greenbelt may be destroyed with the construction of the 413. Lire davantage

I definitely do not support this bill. Removing existing bike lanes and making it more difficult to create bike lanes in the future seems to be a costly and inefficient idea. Lire davantage

Good afternoon, I am deeply disappointed with the proposed bill and I am strongly against it, specifically in regards to the bike plane provisions. Lire davantage

I urge the Ontario government to respect municipal jurisdiction and not interfere with Toronto's bike lanes. Cycling infrastructure saves lives, reduces congestion, and improves air quality.

Removing bike lines will not reduce congestion in the city. Biking in downtown Toronto is extremely dangerous when there are no dedicated bike lanes. Bikers will still need to share the road with cars, with or without dedicated lanes. Lire davantage

Transit infrastructure works better if it gives people options. The existing infrastructure favours cars and only cars. With the cost of living crisis, purchasing, insuring and maintaining a car is not feasible for many Ontarians. Lire davantage

I’m sorry but there is no picture I can envision where bike lane decisions being made from a distance can in any way support what people are looking for in their communities. Lire davantage

I strongly opposed this proposed legislation. It is shortsighted and dangerous, and will put lives at risk by removing/preventing essential safe cycling infrastructure. Lire davantage

Research has shown time and time again that bike lanes help small businesses. People flying by in their cars aren’t stopping to shop, they don’t have time to see the stores they’re passing. Why is the Ford government trying to crush business? Lire davantage

Absolutely atrocious that the Ford government is participating in the demonization of cyclists and targeting bike lanes. Our government should be funding transit to get cars off the roads, not spending money on removing bike lanes to get cyclists killed! Shameful

Against. Traffic is because there are too many cars on the road. We need things like bike lanes, buses, trains, etc to get more cars off the road and free up traffic. This is going the wrong way.

There is no fat at that bike lanes increase traffic. This is going backwards! We need to expand the network of bike lanes and encourage more use of e-bikes as well and get cars off the road - that will reduce gridlock! Encourage people to work from home , four day work week! Lire davantage

The government of Ontario needs to focus on things like our failing health care system, not bullying cities into getting rid of bike lanes that the population who actually live there and don't commute in want.

Adding more lanes does not reduce traffic. Induced demand means those lanes fill up with more cars and more cars means more traffic Lire davantage

I exclusively drive my own car and live in Brant County, though I visit Toronto once or twice a month. I don't understand why the government under Doug Ford believes these measures will improve traffic when every competent city planner says they will do the opposite. Lire davantage
