This is a city issue not a provincial issue. Doug ford can keep his PC opinion out of this and let city Councillors do their jobs and speak for their areas.

The three bike lanes Premier Ford has pledged to remove in Toronto sees thousands of users per day—that’s literally thousands of cars that are off the road as a result. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose Bill 212 and its proposed framework for bike lanes. This legislation represents a significant step backward in our efforts to create safe, sustainable, and livable cities. Here's why: Lire davantage

This is an incredible overreach of authority. The premier was not elected to be the mayor of Toronto. It would do him well to focus on legislation that addresses his chronic starvation of the health care system, instead of the focus of his ire on his commute to work.

This legislation will result in the deaths of more cyclists. The legislation disregards everything that experts say about reducing gridlock. Lire davantage

This is a terrible Bill and a ridiculous overreach of provincial power. The bike lanes part is against evidence and seems like Ford just has a personal problem with bike lanes and cyclists. Lire davantage

As a small business owner, I rely on getting customers through the door. But here's the thing: studies have shown that bike lanes can actually be good for business. Cyclists tend to stop more frequently and browse local shops compared to people stuck in traffic. Lire davantage

As a road user that primarily use a car, I am deeply concerned about the Government's intention to remove bike lanes or put barriers to their development. The removal of bike lanes will not prevent bike users to use the road. Lire davantage

Terrible policy. Do motorists really want more cyclists taking the lane and being stuck behind them? Cyclists will always exist and will continue to exist. From first hand experience the lanes make things so much smoother for both drivers and cyclists. Lire davantage

As a driver, I've actually preferred driving since the city added bike lanes. It used to be so stressful trying to navigate around cyclists who were constantly darting in and out of traffic. Now, with the dedicated bike lanes, everyone knows where they belong. It's like a breath of fresh air. Lire davantage

Bike lanes save lives, encourage active transport and have a profound environmental and economic impact on cities. As a cyclist, I exclusively use routes with thoughtfully designed bike lanes to get to and from my destinations safely. Lire davantage

While bike lanes are getting the headlines, it seems the main propose of this bill is to get around environmental assessments to build Highway 413. This is a terrible bill put forward by a terrible Premier. Lire davantage

This is terrible legislation on multiple levels. First, it is an absurd overreach of provincial power. Why is the province wasting its time and resources micro managing municipalities? Second, ripping out existing bike lines is just a stupid waste of money. Lire davantage

These bike lanes save lives by: promoting a healthy lifestyle, reducing pollution, physically separated from cars that can move at much higher speeds than bikes. Lire davantage

The Ontario government needs to stay in its lane!! It has no business in municipal policies around bike lanes. This kind of big government overreach has no business in Canadian politics. Ontarians have been asking for safer cycling for years and it’s finally being established and is saving lives. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed legislation that would permit the provincial government to override municipalities and remove existing bike lanes or block the future development of bike lanes. Lire davantage

This is a great idea. Too often, cities like Ottawa are installing bicycle lanes and removing lanes for regular vehicles. These bike lanes serve very few people and that vast majority of cyclists do not use these lanes year round. Lire davantage

It’s a matter of life or death. Removing bike lanes in Toronto would be a reckless and irresponsible decision. Lire davantage
