Bike infrastructure is critical to improving the health of our communities, not only for cyclists but also for car owners. Every bike on the road is one less car stuck in traffic. Dedicated bike lanes and mixed-use paths make getting to and from everyday tasks simpler and safer. Lire davantage

I come to Toronto occasionally and park in the west end of the city. I bring my bike and bike into the core using the bike lanes. I usually return via the lakeshore trail. Lire davantage

I oppose Bill 60 because Bicycle Lanes saves lives! Protecting a person's life is more important than reducing the amount of time it takes to get to work or home at night.

Unfortunately the Ontario Government is once again erroneously attributing congestion to cyclists with the proposed Bill 60. Lire davantage

Bill 60 would essentially act as a ban on new bike lanes across the province if they remove a lane of vehicle traffic - which is how you'd add a bike lane; we should be looking towards complete streets with multi-modal lanes which allows people to choose how they want to go around the city safely. This proposal takes the province, and transportation planning, entirely in the wrong direction. Lire davantage

The bike lanes along Bloor St. West between Kipling and Jane St. have not only severely increased traffic in the area it has redirected traffic to the residential streets where most do not have sidewalks. This has become a hazard for pedestrians - especially children in the neighbourhoods. Lire davantage

As a resident of Toronto who is both a cyclist and a driver of a car, I strongly oppose Bill 60 on several grounds. Firstly, the environmental reasons alone are enough to warrant the creation of MORE rather than fewer bike lanes. Lire davantage

As with the provincial government's previous attempt to meddle in the affairs of Ontario cities, their own studies on the effects of removing or limiting bike lanes and other strategies to offer alternatives to cars are being ignored. Lire davantage

We clearly need to protect vulnerable users of the city's infrastructure. Cyclists and pedestrians have a lower impact on the environment and provide a more liveable city. Lire davantage

The government of Ontario should not prevent lane reduction for new bike lanes in Ontario; 1) Cycling is cost effective for lower income peoples 2) Cycling is good for the environment - no C02, no noise 3) Cycling is a healthly form of exercise Lire davantage

I am opposed to this bill because it is an overreach of power by the province on matters that should be left up to municipalities to decide based on evidence, planning goals and unique needs. Lire davantage

This is a nonsensical aspect of the bill. None of the available research shows that eliminating bike lanes will have a noticeable positive impact on traffic movement.

I am writing in opposition to the measure which prohibits new bicycle lanes which would remove motor vehicle travel lanes. I live in Waterloo, and a few of the regional roads here are planned to have a reduction in motor lanes due to them being far over capacity. Lire davantage

The proposed legislation is an over-reach by the Province which offends the basic premise of democracy, namely that political decisions should betaken at the most immediate level possible. Doug Ford surely has more important things to do than checking up on bicycle lanes. Lire davantage

Bill 60 strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. Bill 60 will worsen traffic congestion, not reduce it. The government’s own experts have consistently said that bike lanes are not a cause of gridlock. Lire davantage
