I oppose Bill 5. Removing the Endangered Species Act in favour of fast-tracking developments is severly detrimental to our future. We need to strengthen protections for species at risk, not weaken them. The habitat of animals includes so much more than just the den or nest they dwell in. Read more

We cannot be willing to sell our clean air, water, and the ability of pollinators to help support our food chains -- our land and our ability for ourselves and our children to live healthfully on it to save developers money, when they are already making money hand over fist. Read more

The existing habitat definition and protections of the Endangered Species Act should be retained. They provide a clear approach to conserving Ontario’s most at-risk birds, and any issues of delays or lack of clarity can be dealt with through improvements in process. Read more
