I am writing to urge our Ontario government to not proceed with plans to scrap the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and replace it with the far weaker Species Conservation Act. After years of neglect and incremental cuts, endangered species in Ontario urgently need MORE protections, not less. Read more

I don't support this proposal. Generalizing exemptions for at-risk and endangered species and ecosystems is unnecessary. I might support specific exemptions or exclusions, but that support would depend on transparency, public consultation and science. Read more

Please commit to protecting endangered species by prioritizing scarce habitat and promoting vulnerable species. I have been a summer resident at Wasaga Beach my entire life and in recent years, I have volunteered with Birds Canada to protect the Piping Plovers. Read more

I feel like stronger environmental protections should be in order and Bill 5 doesn’t provide that, it seems to weaken them. We should be proud of protecting our endangered spices, not selling off lands to the highest bidder. Read more
