I am opposed to repealing the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and replacing it with the proposed Species Conservation Act (SCA). The purposes of the ESA are to identify and protect vulnerable species and habitat, and promote recovery and stewardship.

A truly terrible policy. Well, it's good for some. Developers will love it. But it's short sighted. It's not sustainable. It's an act of destruction in the name of progress and development.
We are experiencing a global biodiversity crisis. The proposed replacement of the Endangered Species Act in Ontario is a disappointing and inappropriate action. This proposal suggests that the Provincial government does not value species at risk in Ontario.

I oppose bill 5. I want stronger environmental protections and the protection of endangered species. I oppose shortcuts for industry. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones.
I highly discourage repealing any kind of laws or regulations that protect endangered species for the sake of the economy. This is short-sighted/short-term thinking that will result in long-term issues pertaining to the environment.

Do not forsake the most vulnerable populations -- the plants animals, birds, insects of vast variety.
