As a Hamilton resident, I believe the city if Hamilton should try to work with CN. Each time a scheduled meeting date between the city and CN has arrived, Hamilton and the Mayor cancel at the last minute, delaying all discussions. Meanwhile, CN has been prepared to discuss each time.

I’m writing to encourage Mayor Horwath’s initiative for the Jamesville public housing project. Please issue an MZO for it.
It’s completely ridiculous that families live in tents just a stones throw from boarded up public housing.

The wait list for housing is incredibly long and this area, access to transportation, and stores is ideal.

The continued abandonment of such a considerable area is a significant concern. This valuable land should be serving our community's needs, particularly for affordable housing. It is imperative that we move forward with developing new homes for our residents in this prime location
My husband and I purchased our home in the North End 40 years ago. This site housed many families until the city decided to close it down. It has sat empty and decaying for years when we are in a housing crisis.

I am in support of having the Minister review this case. It's been stagnating for years and it is clear the City and CN cannot come to a resolution on their own.
I support the MZO to aid in the building of more housing, particularly more affordable housing. I trust the city to mitigate any concerns regarding noise and odour that the residential units may be exposed to from CN Rail operations.
Lets get the people off the streets and into housing. People need these units on James St more than the rats and any other types of rodents, bugs etc. that are inhabiting them now. Pick up the pace and lets get it done...now!
This zoning order should proceed, it is more important for the City of Hamilton to have more affordable housing than whatever CN's concerns about noise are. The area around West Harbour GO should all be upzoned to take advantage of the excellent transit connection it provides.
Build it, who cares if it's near shunting yard. The price of the unit will reflect this. It isnt out of the question to mitigate the sound of the trains through sound proofing techniques.
We need affordable housing, building more of it over time will bring the price down.

I live in the neighbourhood and support the proposed MZO. The site has been sitting vacant for many years when it could be otherwise be provided much needed housing.

To the MZO, we need the housing beach in Hamilton. CN has to give back that land. Even if we have to sign a waiver those houses are needed badly in Hamilton.
