Time Hamilton start building homes on land that they should be utilized for housing. The Ministry needs to let builders and developers build and stop all the bureaucracy that keeps land vacant. This needs to be done sooner than later. It’s all the red tape that has put Canada in crisis.

Jamesville has been sitting empty far too long. The province should intervene to allow housing to be built before the partnership seeking to build loses interest

I can’t understand why this housing project is not being completed. The homeless people deserve a place to live. It is a right of each individual to have a roof over their head, along with food and water. These poor people are being tossed all over the city and there is no need for it.

It’s frankly ridiculous that given the current state of housing costs in this province that CN has any ability to block proposed developments, particularly given that this is going to be social housing.
Yes, this land should be developed - it is inexcusable that in the midst of a housing crisis that we have land directly beside our go station that sits abandoned
My parents and inlaws have both lived in this vibrant neighbourhood for almost 50 years. There are no ill effects of living near the CN Rail tracks. The current vacant and abandoned Jamesville Project lands are an eyesore to the community.

This has sat vacant for too long while CN has held up processes. There is a critical shortage of housing for this to sit and rot, it’s completely unacceptable. Zone it for housing ASAP.
Please support Mayor Horwath’s request for an MZO to permit the development of the Jamesville lands for desperately needed affordable housing. CN has held Hamilton hostage long enough.
I fully support turning these rotting buildings into homes, but we are in a housing crisis. WAY more of those units should be affordable. The city should look into partnering with supportive housing providers in Hamilton.

Please facilitate this process as quickly as possible so that this area of Hamilton can be returned to its original purpose, providing much needed housing for those unable to afford the cost of buying or renting a home at current rates.
