As a resident of the area around West Harbour (just a few blocks away), I am strongly in support of this MZO. It is evident this neighbourhood needs more options for housing (given the encampments nearby) and it feels like the options for a negotiated settlement with CN have been exhausted.

I worked at this housing complex for six years, teaching English to many residents of the Jamesville low rent housing community. At that time it was a vibrant, thriving part of the North End, with residents who appreciated a decent place to live at an affordable price. Read more

I agree ONLY if the City of Hamilton is footing the Bill for this and not the tax payers. They are the ones that ran families out ( just like landlords do) they let it sit and rot for years.. worse conditions now then they were families there.. Also if only if built for Geard to income families. Read more

Project needs to move forward but on a much smaller scale. There are way to many units proposed in a small area and our mayor thinks it’s appropriate to add even more than the initial plans. Traffic and parking will become very difficult in the area. Read more

Hamilton is in dire need of affordable housing, people simply cannot live in tents in public spaces; this is inhumane. There is a solution with the development of this property. Housing existed here for many years without issues related to the CN property. Read more

I strongly urge that this project be allowed to proceed without further delay. Unfortunately, the CN current hold is causing significant frustration. The site in question is currently an eyesore in the northern section of Hamilton, an area with considerable developmental potential. Read more

Hamilton needs affordable housing. The solution seems obvious that, given the housing shortage our city faces and the opportunity to provide some affordable housing the province should take any and all action available to expedite the project moving ahead. Read more

The Jamesville property is ready to become desperately needed affordable housing. The province should order for the development to be approved and to reject CNs concerns. People have lived on that property and nearby for years without issues due to the proximity to the trains. Read more

I fully support the Mayor's request to rebuild housing on this site. CN's reasoning to delay to work about future noise issues makes absolutely no sense as there is housing surrounding this site already and it no where near railyards. Read more
