This low income housing is desperately needed in Hamilton. Seniors, single parents, and those just struggling to make ends meet would benefit so much. Even working minimum wage just isn't enough to provide a home and these poor souls end up in shelters or tents. Please help this to happen. Read more

Let's make this happen. The businesses of downtown Hamilton need this, the folks in the area are tired of the hollowed out and dangerous structure and if CN is so "concerned" they can move their shunting yard to the industrial area further east.

This has dragged on long enough. The area had a housing complex for years with no issues to CN. There is no reason they should be interfering with this development. It's ridiculous and has taken way too long! Start building and re-vitalizing the area. Read more

I live in the North End, very close to the site. I agree with the position of CN Rail. Mixed income housing is good, however the changes in the proposal to add several high rise buildings will cause considerable strain on our already struggling community. Read more

This land has day vacant for 10 years, it used to be homes and should continue to be homes. For the life of me I can't understand how the rail companies have been able to tie up this project and frankly they should have to compensate the city and the province for the time and resources the wasted.

I work for a large non-profit in Hamilton. I help feed the homeless. The need for subsidized social housing is more prevalent than ever. Hamilton downtown is overrun with people living rough, and in spite of additional shelter beds, there are still hundreds of people who don't have a home. Read more

Those houses have long been abandoned and the need for affordable homes is desperately needed in Hamilton, as evidenced by the proliferation of homeless people in our parks, streets and green spaces. Put people in those homes and give them the dignity they deserve. -Melanie Read more

It is ridiculous this land has sat for over a decade to be re-built. There are a number of residential houses in the area and I have never read any complaints about shunting. Please accept our Mayor’s request and get on with re-development. Thank you. S. Apro Read more
