I was born and raised in Canada. All my life I’ve been told to protect animals, which isn’t some new concept, I know that. The animals deserve this planet far more than we do. We’ve done nothing but destroy their world to better our own. Read more

Hello, I am a real estate developer. I appreciate all Doug has done to make development easier, however he should NOT replace the endangered species act. We have precious little time to protect our environment and the species in them. Yes it creates greater complexity. Read more

Repeal Bill 5 and protect endangered species. It is immoral to eliminate other species from our environment. People are not separate from Nature. These are irreversible consequences that are not justified by profit, jobs, or so-called progress. Read more

removing barriers to developers by allowing the paving of our biodiversity is not what Ontario wants. The current administration should not be able to make changes that affect our shared natural heritage that will affect generations and degrade our biodiversity- which is protected for a reason. I strongly oppose the implementation of Bill 5 because it significantly weakens environmental protections, reduces oversight of mining and development projects, and limits opportunities for First Nations consultation and consent.

Repeal this bill! We must protect our nature. Animals were here far before we were and we appear to have zero respect for them. Disgusting. I am utterly dissappointed that we have gone this direction.

It does not make any judicial nor financial sense to eradicate protections for endangered species. Our ecosystems all work together; to eradicate one in favour of another, us, is foolish and short-sighted. Please reconsider, and think towards the ACTUAL future, not the next financial quarter.

Hi there, As an Ontario resident I am very opposed to the removal of the Ontario Endangered Species Act. It makes no ecological sense, and will only act to harm an already precarious and delicate system, which is already facing many threats from human encroachment and climate change. Read more

Repeal this act. We should be protecting all endangered species, and protecting all ecosystems so that we no longer have species becoming “at risk” or endangered. This is a violation of Indigenous sovereignty, and infringement upon Indigenous land. Read more
