I do not support the extirpation of species for the sake of the economy and unnecessary consumerist tactics. We can grow our economy without sacrificing these essential species. Everything has a role and depends on everything else. Read more

How greedy do you need to be to kill off 100 species just to build more trash. Its pathetic that this has gotten as far as it has and will be used as an example of how backwards our priorities are at this time for generations.

It makes me so sad that we even have to be in this position, commenting here. I strongly oppose the proposed Species Conservation Act and the repeal of the Endangered Species Act. This legislation represents a major step backward for biodiversity protection in Ontario. Read more

The repeal of this act is one of a government that is not looking into the future. The protection of our environment is investing in a world our children can be safe and enjoy. This act risks destroying that for short term monetary gain, and is therefore fundamentally shortsighted.

The fact I have to say that you shouldn’t do this boggles the mind. The planet is our only planet and these species deserve to live here just as much as we do. Weakening regulation means sacrificing life for profit. Read more

Doug Ford is operating as if he owns this Province, the resources, and its future. He is a disaster for the province and its population. He is unfit to lead, and should be removed from office immediately and charged with corruption, racketeering, and treason. Read more

We must protect endangered species!! There are many ways to build homes and roads without endangering wildlife. We need to protect species that are endangered, and not change how we classify them so that we can bulldoze their land. This is home to all of us, and we must protect it for all species

Doug Ford is a corrupt, treasonous, lying criminal, yet he is permitted to destroy the province of Ontario backed by 20% of the eligible voters. He disregards experts, what the population of Ontario wants, and spits on Indigenous Peoples rights and Treaties. Read more

I strongly oppose the proposed amendments. It ignores the importance of the environment and biodiversity as well as dismisses important legal checkpoints such as provincial protection. Just because the federal government already has policy does not make local provincial policy redundant. Read more

Bill 5 is a regressive maneuver to line the pockets of investors and disrupt our native species, and for what? The need for housing? There are many other ways of dealing with those issues that doesn’t involve bulldozing dozens of acres of land and native habitats. Read more

I'm writing to share my concern over the measures proposed by the SCA. They remove valuable safeguards, endanger environments relied upon by human and animal residents alike, and prioritize development versus balancing the needs of industry and community. Read more
