This bill is ridiculous, limiting habitat to a small immediate perimeter? Demonstrates not even a basic level of understanding of organisms. As a human you're required to travel places food, and connection. Read more

I oppose the proposed regulations to enable the Species Conservation Act (SCA). These changes will further undermine the Ontario Biodiversity Strategy and existing biodiversity protections in Ontario at a time when species are already in steep decline. Read more

As an avid hiker, mother and grandmother I am outraged at the shortsightedness of this government. The least we can do is protect our environment for future generations. Hands off our green spaces and endangered species Read more

I STRONGLY oppose these changes and believe bill 5 should be repealed. These policies drastically reduce environmental protections for our beautiful province, as well as limiting the rights of Indigenous communities to be consulted on projects that are proposed for THEIR land. Read more

I do not support this proposal. Rather than significantly weakening protections for species at risk, this government should be safeguarding biodiversity, respecting Indigenous rights and ensuring local communities benefit from the ecosystem services that nature freely provides. Read more

I do not support this. This will destroy so many important conservations and the species there. Or will destroy the future for ourselves and our children. We need to be put ahead of profits, people are more important. This is shameful.

I am 100% against the proposed legislative and regulatory amendments to the SCA. There has been enough changes regarding Ontario's Environmental protections. Species at Risk are already in decline due to development and habitat loss. Read more

Do better. Live up to the mandate of Environmental Conservation and do not concede protections with the agenda of green-lighting development projects at the expense of proper stewardship of species at risk or even at the expense of our beloved regulars. Read more

What are we doing to our environment and wildlife, let alone those endangered species that already have a tenuous hold on their existence? What is being proposed is destruction for the sake of the mighty dollar with no regard for our children’s future. Read more

This act removes important protections from wildlife, prioritizing economic gains and allowing the government (not scientists) to determine species protections (among many other things - reducing “habitat” definition and so much more).
