I oppose the changes in bill C5. There are 106 endangered species that are at increased risk of extinction if they are removed from the endangered species list. This will have a lasting impact on our environment. Repeal bill C5.

I do not support this proposal. Rather than significantly weakening protections for species at risk, this government should be safeguarding biodiversity, respecting Indigenous rights and ensuring local communities benefit from the ecosystem services that nature freely provides. Read more

I think this is a waste of time because this government doesn’t care about its constituents. Endangered species are SO important. Biodiversity is SO important. We need to keep our wild spaces intact and our wild species alive. Every living thing is important. Read more

This is such a horrible idea. Reducing the species on the endangered species act is such a hit for our wildlife and environment, some of which are only in Ontario or have such small populations already. Read more

I am writing to urge the government to repeal Bill 5 and keep protections in place for the 106 at-risk and endangered species here in our Province. Nothing is more valuable or fragile than nature and the environment. Read more

It is more important to protect our environment than allow buissnesses to move faster. Please do not allow this to remove animals from the endangered species list, they are vulnerable and need protection

To remove 106 species from the endangered species list is not only deranged in a world currently facing ecological collapse, but also such a clear move to satisfy the bottomless greed of the Premier and his friends. Canada is defined by its wilderness. Read more

I oppose eliminating the Endangered Species Act, Bill 5. This is an important act that provides protection to many different species. As a biologist who studied speciation, the diversity of Ontario species is pivotal to maintaining the Ontario we know and love. Read more

We are in an environmental crisis, it is vehemently irresponsible to remove legislation protecting endangered species. The federal government has already demonstrated it's lack of action towards protecting green spaces and it cannot be trusted to ensure the protection of these species. Read more

I oppose these changes, am in favour of repealing bill 5, and for restoring protections for nature. The endangered species list should not be cut from 271 to 169 just because those species are protected federally. This is not a justifiable reason for them to be removed from provincial protections. The continuing diminution of conservation legislation is actively harming the future of our province and the people in it. We have a duty to protect vulnerable species and ecosystems we have already heavily damaged and altered by means of human activity, greed, and ignorance. Read more

Reconsider repealing protections of Ontario Wildlife. This is not a matter of political negotiation but of critical environmental action. We have many sayings in Ontario, speaking of how beautiful our province is and that “good things grow in Ontario”. Read more
