I do not agree with this amalgamation, another cut back that isn’t justified. My family lives in Dundas and uses the HCA frequently and it is important that the trails be preserved by the GCA that knows them so well. Please don’t do this!
The environment is important for the world. We need more protections for our conservation areas, and we cannot allow this consolidation that will increase the risk of the environment being harmed.

Locally based decision making is crucial for conservation of local areas. Local people are most familiar with their environments and have the most at stake in being their stewards. This amalgamation will lead to decisions that aren't in the best interest of the local environments.
I live on Thunder Bay and am happy with how our Lakehead Conservation Authority operates. The Conservation areas are the best and the overall work they do to maintain our environment safe and preserved is something that can't be provided over 1500Km away.

I agree with the comments submitted by the Hamilton Conservation Authority. I grew up with the Hamilton Conservation in my backyard and use their rail trail bike pathways every time I visit home. Strong LOCAL decision-making is important to protect and maintain these beautiful areas.

I am very concerned about the proposal to amalgamate Conservation Authorities in Ontario. As a fisheries biologist that used to work for TRCA, and currently works for Fisheries and Ocean's Canada I am concerned about local project delivery if Conservation Authorities are amalgamated.

I believe rules and guidelines should be consistent across all regions but I do not believe that consolidation of the 36 authorities should be reduced to 7

I am disturbed by the proposal to amalgamate conservation authorities. This move would significantly inhibit the positive work they do in each community.
