As a Hamilton birder and nature enthusiast, who is concerned about conserving and protecting our remaining natural land, I completely agree with the Hamilton Conservation Authority’s statement on why they do not support this proposal. Read more

This is a terrible proposal that will undermine the valuable work of our conservation authorities. Merging them in the pursuit of economy of scale means they won't have the local expertise to deal with cases.

Please leave the conservation authorities as they are. This will not be good for our provinces natural landscape and will ruin environmental accountability. Stop destroying our province with power grabs and overreach. Do better.

I believe reviewing the current structure of conservation authorities in this proposal would be more beneficial than a complete amalgamation. Each authority can support its local needs without a complete restructure though online permit portals, provincial standards and provincial support.

I am AGAINST the merge!!! We do NOT need more government interference coming in and taking more away from the parks while raising prices and making camping unaffordable for the average joe who enjoys a week in the woods!!!

I'm against this entirely. The boundaries for these expanded organizations are huge. The funding and resources will end up getting centralized away from our hugely important natural spaces. This consolidation is going to destroy our wildlife.

I strongly oppose the consolidation of the Conservation Authorities and the creation of the Ontario Provincial Conservation Authority that would remove decision-making from local experts and municipalities. Read more

We have been involved with our local conservation authority on several occasions getting advice on water run off management and tree planting. They have been prompt in responding to inquiries and made site visits to address our concerns. Read more
