The Sydenham River, Molly’s Creek, and 2 roadside ditches are direct flow paths for water drainage and discharge from this landfill site. These waterways provide a delicate ecosystem for more than 80 species of fish, 34 species of mussels, and various protected species. Read more

The Sydenham River is home to migratory bird populations, with this proposed landfill’s surface runoff and leachate draining directly into this river it could disrupt their natural migration patterns. Read more

The water contamination that will be caused by this proposed landfill is a threat to the viability of commercial and recreational fishing. A common past time on the river will no longer be safe to the people spending time near the water, or the aquatic life within it. Read more

You are proposing a dump on traditional territory there has been no consultation with First Nations within their territories. The proposed use of aquifers and watering down garbage and leeching into our water systems that have endangered wildlife. Read more

I believe a complete environmental assessment needs to be done on the proposed York 1 Dresden landfill. The landfill site was used as a small landfill and has been inactive since the 1980's. A lot has changed with new regulations in play now. Read more

It will impact nature, including the bald eagles that have made a come back. Not to mention First Nations peoples hunting and fishing grounds. We are a small area but we have alot of farm land that feed cities. I read that asbestos products will be involved as well. Read more

I am strongly against the proposed transfer and recycling station being located 1km away from the town of Dresden. It would compromise the safety of our farmers, children and businesses of our community and also those along the way to get here. Read more
