It is entirely essential that we protect this precious space. It is home to so much wildlife, and affects our clean water supply. This action cannot be undone, and developments push wildlife into subdivisions which then creates negative consequences for the animals and people living in it.

I am strongly opposed to Bill 5. I believe we need robust environmental protections for endangered species. This bill is another attempt by our premier to give harmful shortcuts to his corporate pals. Nobody deserves an easy pass to destroy the habitat and food sources of protected species. Read more

This Bill can not be passed. These habitats are protected for a reason and opening them up to development will only cost more money down the road when you have environmental issues such as invasive species, flooding and loss of diversity.

I oppose bill 5, we need to continue to protect our endangered species and our environment in habitat, especially for the indigenous. As we all know, we have a lot of green space here and we should continue to preserve that building. New infrastructure and condos is not going to help our economy. Read more

To whom it may concern: NO! JUST NO!! Everything about this proposal is just wrong. Nothing good will come from destroying the natural habitat that currently protects our endangered species. Who in their right mind would even propose such a thing ? Signed a concerned citizen. Read more

Replacing enforceable habitat laws with voluntary measures shifts responsibility away from government and on to private landowners, potentially creating substantial gaps in protection. The only people benefitting from this are Doug Ford and his business friends.
