Development should not come at the cost of environmental protections. This AGAIN screams of conflict of interests as this bill benefits those who have collaborated with our provincial leader previously with the undermining of the greenbelt. I DO NOT SUPPORT BILL 5. It is abhorrent

I am writing to strongly express my strong opposition to Bill 5. The measures that protect endangered species are of utmost importance, and I firmly believe that rushing these critical protections undermines our commitment to biodiversity and environmental stewardship. Read more

I’m absolutely against this proposal and urge the government to withdraw it. Once a species has been eradicated from an area, it’s too late. Rushed development at all costs is not the way to proceed.

Ontario needs more housing, but gutting the Species at Risk Act is NOT the way to do it! This is a reckless and unfounded proposal and absolutely should NOT be adopted by the Ontario legislature! Please reject this senseless idea.

I strongly oppose the proposed Bill 5 Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, 2025. If approved, the legislation reduces protection for species at risk, will increase habitat loss for and hamper their recovery of biodiversity. Read more

I strongly object to the changes proposed in Bill 5 - Our environment and wildlife species, once allowed to have protections removed, will take decades, if ever, to recover, as shown in the mercury pollution still being dealt with in NW Ontario. Read more

Well it should be no surprise to anyone that we are here once again. This bill must not be allowed. We have to stand for the environment , certainly our endangered Species must be protected and the people MUST be allowed to have a say in the province in which we live. Read more

The Ontario government’s proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 basically guts its effectiveness to protect at-risk wildlife. The overall goal of the Act is being changed, which could shift the focus away from strong protection of species at risk. Read more

Commenting as someone who has worked closely with infrastructure departments for local governments, as well as someone who has significant education and experience as a professional biologist I can resolutely say this proposed bill will have devastating effects. Read more
