I oppose Bill 5. It’s a terrible idea to disregard environmental protections and allow shortcuts to industry. We can’t continue with plowing through this initiatives without properly understanding the environmental and ecological impacts.

I oppose bill 5. Ontario needs more strict environmental protection legislation. I oppose bills that take short cuts and that disregard and do not consult with local communities and most importantly indigenous communities. Do better Ontario.

The Ford government again proves that violating nature is less important than their plans to control who builds and where. Have they not learned from the green belt scandal? Where is the RC MP report? Read more

I disagree with the changes put forth by Bill 5. Building faster and skipping over proper oversight for endangered species is a terrible idea. Also changing the definition of habitat to not include where the animal gets its food is irresponsible.

This change would severely impact not only the biodiversity of Ontario but the economic value that the health of our environment provides. The interconnectedness of nature often goes unnoticed by policy makers however must be considered when implementing policy changes. Read more

As an Ontarian, I oppose Bill 5! I oppose shortcuts for industry with no public oversight. I want stronger environmental protection for endangered species. I also oppose over-riding the law in special economic zones. Proposed economic zones are not democratic and are a power grab. Read more

I am very much AGAINST this bill. The government should not have the power to remove animals from the sar list. This will destroy ecosystem and the homes for these animals, and will NOT help the economy. It'll only help the rich get richer and at the expense of our wildlife. Read more

The current approach to the protection and conservation of species at risk is there for a good reason. We need to take extra care no matter what the cost to housing, transit, and infrastructure. This proposal risks harming species that we could never get back.

I oppose this proposal because I know this will have a negative impact on our endangered wildlife. This will also decrease the already minimal greenspaces we have available for the overall benefit of the health of the planet, the wildlife and even the citizens. This act would be bad in every way.

I strongly oppose Bill 5, the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act. This legislation poses a serious threat to Ontario’s natural heritage, democratic processes and Indigenous rights. Read more
