The proposed Bill fails to provide adequate protections and safeguards for our environment and endangered species. In fact, it outright overrides and bypasses existing protections for the seemingly selfish interests of private developers.

I oppose Bill 5. The Ontario government has already destroyed so many ecosystems and put the nature of things out of balance by using legal loopholes like this. Prospective economic projects are not worth ruining Ontario’s nature and beauty for future generations.

The narrowing of habitat definitions and the introduction of a 'registration-first' approach could lead to increased harm to at-risk species without adequate oversight.

I can’t believe the Premier who has a cottage up in Muskoka wants to take protections away from endangered species. We have so many beautiful places in the province and it seems like the Conservatives just want to monetize these bucolic places. Where will it stop?

This bill is not ok for the environment, or endangered species. The fight to protect wildlife is hard enough without reducing what little protections exist. This bill is unethical and greedy, and should not be put through. Shame on anyone supporting this bill.
This Bill seems like it will be something else to line the pockets of rich people, and allowing building to start without proper environmental consideration, leaving us to further endanger species at risk.
