I oppose bill 5. I want stronger environmental protections and the protection of endangered species. I oppose shortcuts for industry. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones.

I am a lifelong Ontario resident writing in strong opposition to the proposed changes of the Endangered Species Act. The proposal almost reads comedic - reducing an animals habitat to a single dwelling and the immediate surround area? Ridiculous. Read more

We do not support this new bill. Ruining our small town Dresden proposing a landfill in our beautiful community. Pls do not move forward with this bill. Do your homework. This will ruin our town where we are raising our children.

I am against Bill 5. I think it is short sighted, the will of a small representation of Ontario and another example of modern colonialism. We are in an environmental crisis and we are the caregivers of our land and all of the creatures that call it home. Read more

To whoever it concerns, I am writing this to prevent Doug Ford from continuing BILL 5. We are in a global biodiversity crisis, with over 230 plants and animals at risk in Ontario. The healthy forests, waters and wetlands that species at risk rely on sustain all Ontarians. Read more

As a lifelong Ontario resident and a citizen deeply committed to our environment, I am writing to express my strong opposition to Bill 5 (2022), the so-called “Protecting Ontario’s Environment and Economy Act.” Despite its name, this bill would gravely weaken Ontario’s environmental protections. This is a very bad idea, and it's very bad for Ontario, take protections from the environment and species, it's awful. Stop putting money and greed above what's best for Ontario?

We need stronger environmental protection in Ontario. I don't understand how removing protections or making it easier for builders to ignore important aspects of the environment is a good long term approach. I oppose Bill 5.

I am a biologist, and this is an incredibly bad idea. Requiring permits for development or activities that might hurt endangered animals is important to prevent them from being destroyed. The fact that acquiring a permit takes time is not a problem that needs to be fixed. Read more

I oppose the proposed changes to Ontario’s Endangered Species Act (ESA), which prioritize short-term economic development at the expense of biodiversity, scientific integrity, and long-term environmental health. Read more

Bill 5 is an absolute abomination. Fast-tracking development at the cost of not consulting with Indigenous, hand-picking developers and corporations for exemption of regulations that protect endangered species and our environment is against our values as Ontarians. Read more

La préservation de notre environnement et des espèces en danger est primordial. De plus nous n'avons pas besoin de plus d'entrepreneur qui détruise nos espace vert pour construire des condos ou pire.

I oppose bill 5. It's more important than ever to have strong enviornmental protections. I do not support short cuts for industry. There needs to be public oversight and liabilities.
