The potential economic gains that could result from this bill are in no way equal in significance to the damage that our Ontario ecosystems would undergo as a result of decreased scientific assessments and a repealed Endangered Species Act. We need more protections for our environment, not less. Read more

In no way can I support this legislation which will be incredibly damaging to Ontario. Bill 5, Ontario premier Doug Ford’s Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025, would do untold damage to ecosystems, endangered species, and future generations. Read more

I am strongly opposed to any bill that reduces the effectiveness of the Endangered Species Act like Bill 5 proposes. Ontario is more than capable of producing enough new homes, businesses, and mining operations without circumventing established regulations and environmental assessments. Read more
