Bill 5 is a dangerous rollback of biodiversity protections in our province. Repealing the Endangered Species Act strips away the cornerstone of the environmental legislation that leaves a crumbling foundation for future recovery of endangered species.

I am writing in strong opposition to the proposed changes of the Endangered Species Act which protects Ontario’s most vulnerable wildlife and our vanishing biodiversity. The current process to obtain a development permit is being called slow and complex.

I highly disagree with passing this bill. This bill doesn’t prioritize Ontarians, it’s prioritizing selective industries at the expense of our environment, and average citizens. We need more environmental protection.
I am highly opposed to this proposal as it blatantly ignores the protection of species and implies the development of infrastructure on habitats prior to verification of safety for the species.

When did we start not caring about our planet! The many different species we have destroyed in the past has got to stop. We are better educated and well informed about how these species are necessary for the balance in our ecosystems, and our daily lives.

I do not want you to pass Bill 5. It is an utter destruction of our environment. It is a destruction of the rights for every Ontario citizen, including our children, to live in a safe place. This will actively hinder the future's ability to live.

We have ONE planet. And land is not infinite. This is not sustainable without harming wildlife further and bullying indigenous people AGAIN. Find a better solution, this bill is frankly lazy at best and evidence of corruption at worst.

This proposal is embarrassing and should not be put forward. We cannot be prioritizing development over our environment and I strongly oppose the Conservative government trying to do this.
I am deeply concerned about the proposed Bill 5. It puts endangered species in Ontario at risk, undermines indigenous rights and consultations, and strips away important legal protections.

I oppose Bill 5 and any Bill that attempts to provide greater access to land for corporations without strong public oversight. I want strong environmental protection, including but not limited to the Green Belt.

As an Ontarian, I am against this new bill as it would override indigenous rights to land in favour of economic gain for a select group of property developers. Such blatant disregard for indigenous sovereignty is inconstitucional and cannot be allowed to proceed in Ontario.
