I oppose bill 05. There's no reason to be taking away environmental laws. We don't need less oversight. We need stronger protections for endangered species. This bill should not pass.

These human associated developments are not as important as the potential to lose or fragment populations of species that are already under str Read more

The Ford government is proposing a damaging policy right now (Bill 5) that would repeal the Endangered Species Act and replace it with a watered down act that wouldn't be sufficient to protect habitat or species at risk. Read more

As a resident of Toronto and a Canadian citizen, I DO NOT support the proposed interim changes. The new changes proposed puts species endangered at risk and this is not okay. Do not go forward with these changes.

Bill 5, if enacted, would undermine any and all attempts to protect Ontario's Species at Risk, at a time when rapidly increasing biodiversity loss is already a serious threat to the conditions necessary for the existence of both humans and ecosystems. Read more

I STRONGLY oppose Bill 5. We need stronger protections for endangered species, not the opposite. I strongly oppose short cuts for industry / fast-tracking development projects with no public oversight. And strongly oppose over-ridding the LAW in special economic zones. Read more

Bill 5 would dismantle critical legal safeguards for our environment and eliminate critical laws meant to protect the most vulnerable species in Ontario. I prefer a government that protects vulnerable species and precious ecosystems. Read more

This Bill is antidemocratic. I want strong environmental protections. I oppose short cuts for industry. Ontario needs to think about the long term and protect its natural resources and land.

I strongly oppose. The conservation of endangered species and their habitats should not be based on how much it affects an industry or business. Even if it slows down or costs more, retaining biodiversity is irreplaceable and irreversible compared to just human economics. Read more

Bill 5 is undemocratic, unconstitutional, and irresponsible. Shifting powers currently held by the legislature to ministers further removes Ontarians from decisions made about our province thus reducing accountability. Read more
