I oppose bill 05. There's no reason to be taking away environmental laws. We don't need less oversight. We need stronger protections for endangered species. This bill should not pass.

The Ford government is proposing a damaging policy right now (Bill 5) that would repeal the Endangered Species Act and replace it with a watered down act that wouldn't be sufficient to protect habitat or species at risk.

As a resident of Toronto and a Canadian citizen, I DO NOT support the proposed interim changes. The new changes proposed puts species endangered at risk and this is not okay. Do not go forward with these changes.
Bill 5, if enacted, would undermine any and all attempts to protect Ontario's Species at Risk, at a time when rapidly increasing biodiversity loss is already a serious threat to the conditions necessary for the existence of both humans and ecosystems.
