I oppose bill 5. I oppose short cuts for industry with no public oversight. I want stronger environmental and endangered species protections. I oppose overwriting the law in special economic zones. Read more

STRONGLY AGAINST BILL 5. The environment and animals deserve protection. This is PURE GREED FROM DOUG FORD. This is an EMBARRASSMENT for all of Ontario. You should feel shameful but I know you can’t.

Hi! I strongly oppose bill 5, this is rolling back important progress. Instead, I want stronger environmental protections and the protection of endangered species. I also oppose shortcuts for industry and builders. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones. Thanks! Angelica Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5, the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act. This legislation poses a serious threat to Ontario’s natural heritage, democratic processes and Indigenous rights. Read more

I oppose Bill 5; not only is it disingenuous towards what it’s proposing (to boot our provincial economy by “opening jobs” when in reality its destroying countless generations of environmental protection), it also ruins Ontario’s highly prized eco-tourism industry. Read more

This is an irresponsible move especially in our era of climate crisis and its impacts on communities. Ecosystems are what they are: ecology + systems. By not protecting a minuscule part of this ecosystem, we risk grave consequences. This is basic information. Read more

This circumvents a previous bill which had due process to create projects on protected lands and habitats. The other bill would have a company file a request and then it would be reviewed. Read more

I am deeply concerned that Bill 5 will be devastating to already struggling at risk ecosystems. Allowing developers and corporations to bypass regulations set up by the government that are science based is opening up a dangerous door to allow fast tracking loss of species and ecosystems. Read more

Why are we choosing to do this? The ecosystem is so important. All animals have an importance in the process of life. Why are we so selfish to think that their lives don't matter? We should be saving not ignoring. Read more

am writing to strongly oppose any move to weaken or dismantle Ontario’s Endangered Species Act. Such a decision would be short-sighted, irresponsible, and a devastating blow to the province’s environmental legacy. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5 as an Ontarian and someone who lives within the GTA. The bill does not consider the value of nature resources and how it can assist our city. Read more

Too much destruction and critical habitat loss already exists throughout Ontario. Where have you folks been? You know the old canary in the coal mine story... well we are living it everyday with the decline and loss of diverse Species throughout our province. Read more

I oppose the significant reduction in protections for our ecosystem in the removal of the ESA and creation of the SCA. The change in habitat and removal of harass will only allow torment and damage to our most sensitive features. This is appalling and incredibly disappointing.
