The Design Brief describes the influent as “typical domestic wastewater.” However, based on the concentrations presented in Table 5 of the report, the proposed influent characteristics align more closely with weak to medium strength domestic sewage according to standard wastewater literature. I am proud to live close to pristine, wild rivers such as the Goulais without any unnatural discharges into them. There has been an increasing trend of low water periods in the rivers in this area, so removing water and putting treated sewage into the Goulais could be detrimental. Read more
