I agree with and stand with the HCA’s submission to the ERO. It is not clear how the provincial merger will improve the management of conservation lands. Conservation efforts are local and community-driven, and I am concerned about losing local decision-making through this consolidation.

I am concerned that amalgamation of the conservation authorities will reduce the efficacy of the organizations in protecting the local ecosystems. And that this is just a move for Doug Ford to continue to attempt to weaken conservation groups in an attempt to build in the greenbelt. Read more

Don't do this. Listen to what ALL the actual Conservation Authorities are saying - they are AGAINST this. Can changes be made? Yes. Is this the way to do it? No. Do NOT change the boundaries of the CAs and do NOT create a new agency for their oversight.

I do not support the merger. HCA currently does a great job managing its lands and a merger will dilute protections and maintenance of these properties. The government displays a disregard for protecting our green spaces and these merger concern me greatly.

I oppose the merger of the Conservation Authorities down to 7. I believe this is to provide an easier route for developers. As with the Speed Cameras this government has not provided any evidence for this merger. In fact there needs to be a public process before any decisions are made. Read more
